Heard Pappa calling again last night, followed by a light thud from the balcony as Pot Plant Owl landed on our table. Woke up to mess / soil on the balcony floor. Who's going to clean that up, PPO?

A family of Great Horned Owls has made our Oklahoma City cul de sac home for a few years. They often perch on Alessondra's bedroom window planter through the cooler months. This year, the Mother-owl laid 2 eggs in an urn on our balcony around March 1st and is nurturing them on our balcony. Watch her live!
If the screen is dark and you can't see the eggs on the lower third of the screen, that means she's there lying on them.
If it's dark and you can see the eggs, that means she's away

Una famiglia di grandi gufi cornuti ha reso la nostra Oklahoma City cul de sac a casa per alcuni anni. Spesso si posavano sulla finestra della camera da letto nei mesi più freddi. Quest'anno, la femmina ha deposto 2 uova in un vaso sul nostro balcone intorno a 1 ° marzo e li sta covando.
Se lo schermo è buio e non riesci a vedere le uova sul terzo inferiore dello schermo, ciò significa che lei è lì sdraiato su di loro.
Se è buio e si possono vedere le uova, significa che lei è lontana.

Hello from cold Jozi, South Africa: As PPO and Pappa prepare the nest for the coming year's breeding season, we are fighting off colds and staying indoors. The choice of nest is the far potted plant which is not our first choice. Pappa visits briefly most nights but we don't see them much because of the dark / cold. We do hear the hooting which is wonderful.

..freddo qui in Sud Africa e mentre PPO e Pappa preparano il nido per la prossima stagione noi stiamo chiusi in casa a combattere col raffreddore. Hanno scelto un vaso che non è la nostra prima scelta, Pappa fa brevi visite di notte e noi vediamo ben poco causa il buio e il freddo ma sentiamo il suo fischio che è meraviglioso

Pappa hooting sul ​​balcone la notte scorsa è stato un suono di benvenuto. Non sono andato a vedere se c'era anche PPO, ma non ho sentito un secondo hoot.

Pappa is not taking 'no' for an answer. Pappa non partecipa 'no' per una risposta. For the past couple of weeks, we've been watching Pappa do everything in his power to entice Pot Plant Owl to the balcony, and the nest. Per le ultime due settimane, siamo stati a guardare Pappa fare tutto quanto in suo potere per invogliare impianto Owl Pot al balcone, e il nido. E fischi ... If this doesn't illicit a response from PPO, Pappa jumps into the pot plant, and shuffles his talons and scratches the soil, all the while looking around for Pot Plant Owl. If this doesn't bring PPO to the nest, Pappa gets out of the nest and flies to the rooftop nearby,and hoots again - this time louder and more 'forcefully' - as if to say 'Okay now.
