European rollers 2022
This couple of European rollers (Coracias garrulus) nested in one of the many nest boxes we have installed in central Italy to support the reproduction of this uncommon species. European rollers are long-distance migratory birds, and can be seen in Italy from late April to early September. After that, they embark on a long migration to go spend the winter in southern Africa.
