Two weeks ago I watched as the Bocholt peregrine female (Bella, identification ring: 3 PO) with a foreign (banded) male mated to a church tower here in Bocholt. The private (not banded) male (Amadeus) cranked near a bird and was granted his rival !
In the last week the three peregrine falcons were back together - now the water tower. It was found that the bold, strange male was a young falcon from the year 2013.
Today I saw that the peregrine female mated again with his old male from the water tower, the young male was sitting only about 2 meters. This male today visited several times the nest box - like the female, which further deepened the Nistmulde .
The webcam in the nest box clearly showed the readable identification ring (1 RM), that the young tiercel was Amadeus' and Bella's son - an offspring from 2013!
Now it remains to be seen how it goes here . Such behavior I've never seen!
