Today the male began to brood.. didn't expect that and know it's late.
Your suggestion is a good one imo, Piet, really could probably help the male for the next season.

In sintesi.
Facendo riferimento al caso di Louie e Dori (Pittsburgh, Gulf Tower, 2010) che come sappiamo ha covato con successo le proprie 3 uova insieme alle 2 lasciate da Tasha, Dutch Eagle Fan (DEF), pensa che questo di Vergine e del maschio che solo adesso ha iniziato a covare possa essere ritenuto un caso analogo e quindi di non abbandonare ogni speranza.
Piet giustamente fa notare che non c'è paragone. A Pitt le uova di Tasha non erano mai state covate prima che Louie 'convincesse' Dori a prendersene cura.
Ora, un uovo fresco può anche restare in frigo per mesi senza che l'embrione subisca danni ed essere poi riscaldato naturalmente o artificialmente con normale sviluppo dell'embrione stesso e, quindi, nascita del pulcino (me lo ha spiegato Paolo a suo tempo). Ma qui c'è stata una cova interrotta e gli embrioni sono certamente morti in quel periodo.
Per evitare una cova senza fine e senza senso come ad Eemsmond e altrove (conosco altri casi nei dintorni di Cleveland), anche Piet ritiene opportuno che le uova vengano rimosse. Ma suggerisce di aspettare ancora un po' perché il maschio si abitui all'idea di covare (dato che sembra essere questo il suo problema), cosa che gli verrà utile la prossima stagione. Avendo aspettato tanto, una settimana/10 giorni in più non possono nuocere.
