cena finita....zampa liberata...e pancine piene per la notte :D quando lui hs visto lei tornare...ha preso lacarcassa..ormai vuota di carne e l'ha attirata lontano dai piccoli..che papà!

i pulli mi sembrano ben sazi. mi sembra che alla fine non ce la facessero più...

S2 è tornata sulla piattaforma. lui esce con i resti della preda e vola via. lei lo segue...

...hanno veramente fatto un cenone!

Non ricordo di averli ancora visti mangiare tanto. Il più piccolo ha inghiottito tutto per quasi 10 minuti... :D

No, molto più a lungo! quasi 20 minuti, anche se all'inizio è stato il maggiore a farsi una vera scorpacciata.

non so se Pa o S2, ma credo Pa, è andato a guardare il cadeverino del pullino e alzava e abbassava la testa. poi è andato via.

Un pullo non c'è l'ha fatta!!! e va bene speriamo bene x gli altri

Alcuni olandesi di buon cuore (grazie Dorine!) sono andati alla torre ieri un po' prima del tramonto e hanno scritto questo resoconto, apparso sul forum olandese (che ha anche una sezione totalmente in inglese).

eccolo qui:

"We arrive at the tower and it was more quiet than expected. It was just very quiet. Only there was a lot of wind and the wind was chilly. On the frontside there was no falcon in sight and because the wind blew so hard and kold we walked to the backside of the tower to sit there in the sun and out of the wind and observe the tower.

We saw a falcon sitting on the top illuminating equipment on the backside. Actually this was Pa's place, but we thought this falcon was to big to be Pa. I strongly had the presumption that is was S2, on Pa's place. She stole that from him as well.

We sat down in the grass and wait till something will happen. We sat there for quit a while without any movement from S2 and also without seeing anything of Pa. Piet (the husband of the writer) became cold in his T-shirt and went back to the car to pick up his bodywarmer. I stayed there, sitting for at least 10 minutes, but still no change in the situation. Piet didn't come back and I started to get cold to, so I went back to the car as well.

When I walk in the forest I hear a falcon. In the meantime the trees have a lot of leaves and looking up in the forest is pointless. When I arriva at the road, I see a falcon fly, a big one so that will be S2. I walk quickly to Piet and he told me dat he saw Pa with a big, fat prey arrive and after flying a round around the tower he entered the nestbox. Pa probably needed the extra turn around the tower to get up because it isn't easy to fly straight to the nestbox with such a huge prey in your claws.

So Pa is in the nestbox with the prey and S2 flies behind the tower from left to right and back. Two times she lands on the platform and back to the backside of the tower, flying left-right-left-etc. She seems to be nervous, that's how it looked to us.

Actually we expected that S2 would go back to the nestbox, but every time she sat down somewhere else on the backside of the tower. She really flew a lot of times left-right-left-etc until we saw her going up in the direction of the nestbox. We were sitting there, together, already cursing a bit when she flew to the nestbox. What happened then, was very beautiful. I think the farmer in the neighbourhood saw it happen also, and put on his watering installation. This caused a big boom and S2 got frightened and changed direction and flew back to the backside of the tower. She sat there for a while, flew a bit, and sat there again. After a few minutes she's had enough of it and flew to the nestbox and landed on the platform.

In the meantime, Pa was feeding for about 20 minutes. S2 sat on the platform and suddenly Pa flew out of the nestbox with the remains of the prey (that's what we thought). Pa out of the nestbox with the pray and S2 sitting and watching???? We couldn't believe our eyes. S2 went (of course) after Pa and the two of them have been "fighting" in the air for the prey for quit a while. Whatever S2 tried, Pa did not release the prey. She just didn't get it. It was very obvious to see that Pa was much manoeuvable than S2, allthough he had the prey in his claws. Pa was on the backside of the tower for a short while and than returned without prey. S2 was there too, but probably she couldn't search very well, because she didn't find the prey.

this was very impressive to see. Pa is not a joke. Like he wanted to make a clear statement to her that the prey was for the kids and not for her. And with lots of thanks for the local farmer, who made it possible for Pa to feed a lot longer.

After that we saw S2 flying to the nestbox. She landed on the platform. What she was going to do there, I don't know, but there was no more prey there. Then, "that thing" suddenly dives into the nestbox. You see that and you expect her to come out quickly. Not! You get worried and we called with the people at home. When our kids finally had the webcams on the monitor, S2 leaves the nestbox. We thought that she was in the nestbox for quit a while, a scary thought if you can't see what she's doing there.

She flies another turn and flies out of sight. We wait a short while but no falcon appears. Dusk began to fall so I think that Pa and S2 have already found a place to spend the night.

From the kids at home we heard that the kids were lying under the webcam. That is very clever of them because they are lying out of the wind. The wind blows full in the corner were our little one lies and as it is chilly, I think it's very sensible of the kids to lie there. I have to say that the wind wasn't blowing as hard as it did when we arrived.

At least, the kids have aten a large part of the thick fat prey. They will come through the night with it. Let's hope for tomorrow. When Pa shows S2 clearly that the prey isn't for her but for the kids, it looks a lot better."

1) Pa non si dimostra sottomesso a S2
2) fa freddo

sono appena entrata nel sito ed ho visto una scena che non ho capito,
forse Pa aveva appena finito di dare una preda, poi è arrivata S2.....
e poi Pa? ma quella che il pullo fronteggiava strillando era S2??
c'è qualcuno che ha visto meglio e mi spiega?

Credo che tu abbia ragione, non ho assistito alla scena ma sul forum olandese in lingua inglese che stos seguendo da qualche giorno contemporaneamente al vostro, si dice proprio questo:

just saw the 1 chick mantle over the other and the dead one ,when the large female came in to the nest box, and scared her off .

e ancora

Fairly good feed. Dad brought in a second piece of prey at the end but then S2 turned up. Chick chased S2 away.

Sembra proprio che i nostri piccini stiano sfoderando... gli artigli!

ieri sera verso le 8.30...i pulli sono riusciti a mangiare una grossa preda indisturbati, grazie alla tenacia di Pa che ha difeso il loro pasto e ha concesso all'intrusa solo la carcassa della preda.
in questi ultimi giorni, inoltre, i piccoli hanno fronteggiato l'intrusa con grida e coraggio...allontanandola dal nido in iù occasioni :D

Mi ha appena chiamato il giornalista Emilio Nessi, chiedendomi spiegazioni sui fatti... Gli è arrivata in qualche modo la mia/vostra e-mail di ieri sera in cui chiedevamo aiuto per i pulli...
Se so qualcosa di più vi informo... INCROCIAMO L'INCROCIABILE!!!

secondo la sezione inglese del forum olandese ieri sera Pa non ha concesso a S2 nemmeno la carcassa.

Però stamattina S2 è riuscita a rubare per ben 3 volte il cibo.

Però oggi Pa è più attivo di ieri, forse c'è meno vento quindi più prede... speriamo bene.

Io tifo per i piccoli e Pa e spero che S2 non li disturbi. Non me la sento però di maledirla o augurargli brutte cose. Sebbene si comporti "male" ai nostri occhi umani e un bel esemplare di giovane falco femmina e chissà che in futuro dia alla luce dei bei falchetti.

con questo spero davvero che viva e lasci vivere...

ma visto come reagiscono i piccoli spero che le cose vadano per il meglio. Speriamo che presto riescano ad alimentarsi da soli difendendo il pasto così Pa avrà più tempo per cacciare.
