With our second chick hatching at 00:22 this morning it has had a much nicer start than its sibling did, experiencing blue sky and sunshine only hours after first emerging! Due to the much improved conditions, our second chick didn’t have to wait as long for its first meal either.

We are happy to announce that late on this afternoon our chicks were successfully ringed Blue KP0, KP1 and KP2.

We are delighted to be told that the chicks all appear to be a good size and
in great condition and based on wing length we believe to have 2 females and 1 male.

The females received the rings Blue KP0 and KP1, with the male being KP2.

Loch Garten

Meet Rowan and Willow - our wonderful osprey chicks were ringed this morning.

Both are fit and healthy and both are boys!

Loch of the Lowes - One gone…. four to go!

We can now confirm that the female Osprey (LF15) has left Loch of the Lowes and started her journey towards Africa. She left on Saturday morning, when the wind decreased and the weather improved.
