I "corteggiamenti" hanno avuto il loro bel effetto!!!!!

Io sono passata in fiera ieri (domenica) verso mezzogiorno e ne ho visto uno sulla torre di fronte al nido, ma poco dopo ho sentito fischi e schiocchi, ho visto un battere di ali e........erano li' tutti e 2 in un bel accoppiamento!!!!!!!

E che bel risultato!!!!!!! Ne aspettiamo altri

quindi molto probabilmente quest'anno avremo solo un uovo oppure potrebbe esserci una nuova deposizione anche a distanza di ormai una settimana? il fatto che aisha non si metta a covare mi fa pensare che lei sappia farà almeno un altro ovetto ma... io non sono certo un esperto.

carlo mi diceva che un uovo potrebbe essere anche un invito al maschio per dire che e' pronta...certo il secondo si fa attendere troppo al nido si vedono poco...credo che al massimo possiamo aspettare oggi poi non so...

So sorry to post in English Gio but my knowledge of Italian is virtually nonexistent.
One of the captures seems to show a second egg disappearing under that sheet of paper or cardboard in the nest. Am I mistaken?
Such a shame if they only have one egg this year. Still hoping for at least one more

Is that the old piece of cardboard that used to be taped to the back of the nest. I notice there is a new piece there now. If so, I wonder why the old one wasn't removed? The whole nest used to be cleaned up before the new season from what I remember.

you're right, we also asked that but maybe it was too late because the nest was already visited by the couple

Yes, the nest needed to be cleaned and that paper removed , but it was too late when we asked (since the Provincia didn't care). As Dani told, it was possibly upsetting for the pair.
The thing we saw wasn't any egg, just a piece of reddish stone.
We are waiting for at least a second egg, but maybe also the female changed (we cannot be sure about), she can be very young or, at the contrary it's the same getting old. Just speculation, I personally never saw just one egg in a 12/13 old female's nest..

Yes, we have been wondering about the female too. Seems we have a completely new couple, not just new male, this year. My bet is on immaturity (but I could be wrong).
Now 6 days from first, so a second egg seems highly unlikely. They don't seem to be spending much time with that egg...like they are not sure what to do

Also, I think we haven't to be too sorry, they probably need time.
BTW, I know about couples normally fertile for years and suddenly producing any egg, then getting back to the usualal standard the next season. I'm speaking on banded falcons, so no mistake was possible.
